Myth 190A introduces students to five exciting Dark Goddesses from around the globe: Tiamat (Babylonian), Lilith (Sumerian), Kali (Hindu), Sekhmet (Egyptian), and Pele (Hawaiian). These deities have been associated with creation and destruction. Students will have a chance to study and investigate each deity through mythology, characteristics, symbolism, and a bit of history. Each class will allow time for discussion and questions. Although the course may include simple worship practices, the focus will be on developing a basic knowledge of each of these amazing goddesses.
No prerequisites. The student can take either Myth 190A or Myth 190B or both.
