This class introduces you to five exciting Dark Goddesses who have been associated with frontiers, thresholds, and boundaries throughout time. The course will familiarize you with Morrigan (Celtic), Hekate (Greek), Hel (also called Hella) (Norse), Oya (also known as Yansa) (Yoruban & African Diaspora Traditions), and Baba Yaga (Slavic/Russian). You will investigate each deity through mythology, characteristics, symbolism, and a bit of history. Each class will allow time for discussion and questions. Although the class may include simple worship practices, the focus will be on developing a basic knowledge of each of these amazing goddesses.
You can take either Myth 190A or Myth 190B or both. They are standalone courses covering different deities.
