This class introduces students to five exciting Dark Goddesses from around the globe who have been associated with frontiers, thresholds, and boundaries throughout time. The course will familiarize students with Morrigan (Celtic), Hekate (Greek), Hel (also called Hella) (Norse), Oya (also known as Yansa) (Yoruban & African Diaspora Traditions), and Baba Yaga (Slavic/Russian). Students will have a chance to investigate each deity through mythology, characteristics, symbolism, and a bit of history. Each class will allow time for discussion and questions. Although the class may include simple worship practices, the focus will be on developing a basic knowledge of each of these amazing goddesses.

No prerequisites. The student can take either Myth 190A or Myth 190B or both.
